Great post by Pete Carramore!
No matter what you want in your post camp traveling, America has it all. It may actually be the world’s most diverse place, in terms of people and things to do. Each state of America has its own unique blend of culture, tradition, attractions and things to do. Music, history, cuisine, wildlife, beaches, adventure, you can experience it all in America.
America in September is a beautiful place to be. The weather is incredible and you can see America in the beauty of autumn. Here’s what I think you should do to make the most of your time there…
If you want to see the true rage and power of nature then the east coast of America in autumn is the place you should head to. With the arrival of autumn the east coast plays host to hurricane season, with some disastrous, but fascinating results.
From the city to the desert, the American way
If you truly want to experience America there’s no better way than to hit its legendary roads. You’ll get a glimpse of the soul of America out on the roads. For example you could leave the hustle and bustle of LA by heading out to the serenity of Mojave Desert. When you’re cruising in your car with the top down there are few things that will rival a serene drive in the desert. Make a pit-stop when you reach Bodie to visit an authentic historical Wild West town, which now looks like a fascinating ghost town.
Horse riding in Montana
The natural beauty of Montana and horse riding are a match made in heaven. America is truly beautiful in September and Montana proves it true beyond a shadow of doubt. The best way to take in Montana’s natural beauty is on horseback. Ride and see the allure of the truly diverse landscape between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks and you’ll see everything from great spans of rolling plains to threatening jagged peaks.
Visit Venice Beach
America’s beaches are a world in themselves. They’re truly amazing and have a unique character of their own that has made them famous the world over. Venice Beach is also known as the Coney Island of the Pacific, but this is California and therefore the fun is of a whole other level. Girls in skimpy bikinis, body builders and street performers make for a truly fun filled visit – one of the most unique things to do when in America in September.
Visit Charleston, Savannah and the Antebellum South
These are the beautiful centres of the south and are actually only 90 miles apart from each other. Savannah comparatively is more beautiful and Charleston has beach islands which should be enjoyed in fall. September is one of the best months to be here as the heat of the summer starts to dissipate.
A cycling trip in Sonoma
Cycling through Sonoma’s wineries is truly an amazing experience. This is one of the best ways to see the beautiful area and sample the various wines the area has to offer. Definitely a unique experience to show off about when you get home to your adoring families!
