Great post from Amey Jay…
The United States has so many unique and vibrant cities that it’s very difficult to narrow down the top cities to visit in the USA to just 5. But I’ll try my best.
New York is the city that never sleeps – it’s one of the most fascinating cities in the world and everyone must visit while in America. The Manhattan skyline is fascinating, the architecture is inspiring, and the people are part of the world’s greatest cultural pot. Nowhere else in the world will you find so many different restaurants, museums and theatres existing in 23 square miles. Culture, food and entertainment, New York has it all.
While New York is a cultural pot, Boston with its vibrant neighbourhoods is steeped in American history. From the oldest Beacon Hill to the fashionable Back Bay, all of the neighbourhoods have their own unique personality and distinct appeal.
To see America’s history all you need to do is take a stroll around Boston. There is Bunker Hill, the Old North Church, Boston Common and Paul Revere’s house.
If you like to party and love nature, Las Vegas is the place to go after summer camp. It has luxury resorts, excellent dining and world class golf courses. The Las Vegas parties are something you’ll remember for a long time.
For nature lovers there’s the Red Rock, Colorado River and the Grand Canyon. You can also visit Lake Mead which is one of the largest manmade lakes in the world.
Washington DC is without a doubt one of the top 5 cities to visit in the USA. Take in the White House Garden tour and see the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden and the Rose Garden too.
Sightseeing in this city also won’t cost much as most of the museums and memorials are free of charge. Great for camp counselors on a budget.
Orlando is home to the world’s largest amusement park and that reason alone is sufficient enough to make it feature on the list of top 5 cities to visit in the USA. Walt Disney World has the honour of being the world’s most visited recreational resort in the world.
Besides that Orlando has excellent dining, museums and a vibrant art scene. Orlando boasts a very comprehensive collection of Tiffany art housed in Charles Hosmer Morse Museum.
