10:13pm The new counselors arrived today – there are loads of them!
I’ve been at camp for 17 days now and I love it. Imagine if I was at home, I’d have a job in an office and be getting pissed off with everyone and everything, dreaming of being abroad and working in the sunshine somewhere. Here I’ve gone days without thinking about home. There are so many things that make me happy here, mainly the people. Mine and Rebecca’s new bunk buddy arrived earlier, Zoe. She’s a model and has the best clothes. She’s everything I imagine an Aussie girl should be: blonde, tanned, pretty and comes complete with a suitcase full of Billabong and Quiksilver surfwear. She’s in the bed under mine – looks like I’m going to have to refine my getting in and out of bed skills so I don’t kick that pretty little face of hers.
There’s been so much gossip going around today, love it. Apparently two female counselors got caught doing rudies on the golf course at the GC and the owner is fuming, especially as he caught two guys at it under the terrace the other night. Hmmm, wonder who it was, there aren’t that many gay guys on camp? Another one going around is that someone nicked a bottle of alcohol from the GC, and now they’re threatening to close unless someone owns up. They must be well pissed off, but I bet that place makes more money in the three months we’re here than in the whole of the rest of the year, you’ve got to take the rough with the smooth. We’ve got a meeting in a bit and we’re all going to get bollocked.
1:13am Yep, we got bollocked. They told us if we didn’t calm down they’d shut the GC for the rest of the summer. They tried to shame the person who stole the bottle of booze into owning up, as if that would happen. Earl was fuming, manic and after blood, the rage had turned his bulbous nose into a radiant beacon.
